FORD RESTORATION SPECIALIST IN KENT

MY PASSION FOR THE RESTORATION OF FORD RS MODELS

Dave Brooks is a Ford restoration specialist in Kent. He has a passion for restoring classic Ford models such as the Ford Escort RS2000, RS1800, RS1600 and RS Mexico. Dave Brooks Restoration Services was set up in 2017 to restore all classic Ford models. Based in Kent, but happy to take on projects the length and breadth of the country.

Dave left school in 1975 and was given an apprenticeship as a panel beater at local Ford main dealers Morants Motors. During his time there he worked on all of the Ford range including the ‘NEW’ MKII Escort! From there he moved to Wolfe Garage, a VW Audi main dealer in Westerham. In 1984 a move to Essex brought about a new job at Allen of Romford, (now Allen Ford). He was employed as a panel beater and became very familiar with every model and variant including RS models. During his 17 years at Allen Ford he became a highly skilled bodywork man and progressed to forman and finally workshop controller. See More

Ford Escort YFX Re-Restored

YFX is a well known example of an early rs2000 having won many show trophies during the last 15 years or so. The 2016 restoration was undertaken to refresh the car and to pay particular attention to areas such as panel gaps and bodywork detailing.

GPR MkI RS2000 Restoration

GPR was Dave’s own car. Bought in the late 1980’s. On the surface it looked pretty good. It was only when Dave took the car into the workshop to attend to a small piece of corrosion showing on one of the rear arches that the true picture emerged.
